What are your predictions for 2011? We can look at these next year and see how right we were :)

Mine

1. Oprah Winfrey will come out of the closet.
2. Michael Vick will own a dog.
3. Brett Favre will get divorced.
4. Matthew Stafford will actually play next season and ensure a 6 + game winning stretch.
5. TSA will be outsourced to private companies.

1. The Phillies will win the World Series. (In your face, Dr. Doom!)
2. I will have a permanent job (no more working through a contractor)
3. Oonagh will be preggers with our second child.
4. We will be well into the motions of selling our house and moving, if not already moved.

I'll edit if I can think of more.

In response to this prediction, I predict ...

Should the Phillies win the World Series, Oonagh will be a widow.

I predict I will be crushed to death by a fat woman in a non-sexual situation.

Putting my psychic cap on, starting free rolling predictions now

The attempted assassination of Barack Obama
More economic failure on massive scales
The bankruptcy of several states, California not among them
The overdose deaths of two female pop stars
The death of a glade poster
Massive employment related riots in France, many deaths, collapse of French economy.
Culpable evidence of Osama Bin Laden's death
Bill Clinton performing on an album to benefit a charity
The Korean Peninsula at war
JK Rowling starts another series
Major plane crash somewhere in Kentucky
George W. Bush admitted to rehab.
Lydiaa falls head over heels mutually in love with a man her parents don't hate.
New tech that changes everything, quickly.

Okay, that should be enough for now. Some of it is pretty vague. If even half of it is right, I claim victory.

Only two female pop stars Mike?

We had two last year so I predict an increase.
Also, we are overdue for the death of a chubby comedian under 35. Good thing Drew Carey lost all the weight and isn't funny anymore.

This, it's been over a year now with 4.0, we're due for the phoenix to spontaneously com-bust and rise from the ashes again.

No, Moo has stated on a couple of occasions that he is performing regular backups. And also, we're on a legitimate hosting service.

I predict lots of hype over the 2012 apocalypse.

Palin will announce her bid for the presidency.

Clinton will not announce a bid for the presidency.

There will be a period of political turmoil in Washington, lasting into March, and then it will return to business as usual.

Heard about these people. Interesting lot to say the least :)

If you knew for a fact the world was going to end on 01/05/2012 (you have one year) how would you spend your final year?

Easing the suffering of those less fortunate.

Yeah; the Glade runs on a VPS host now. Basically, we have our own dedicated server that Mook has root access to. And it's a virtual machine, so even if there's a hardware failure, it should only take a few minutes to boot up the host on another node. In an absolute worst-case scenario where the VPS hosting company goes belly-up, or whatever, the most we'd stand to lose are any changes to the database (new posts/accounts, settings changes, etc.) since the last off-site backup. In fact, we already jumped hosts with this incarnation of the Glade about 6 months ago because of problems with the original host. I don't think anyone particularly noticed.

That was a planned rollover, of course, so Mook was able to do it nearly seamlessly. In the event of a total unplanned failure, it might take a bit longer to get it running, but not that much. Mook has another VPS host available with PHPBB3 already running, so he could probably get our database imported there pretty quickly if need be. I also have a VPS that could be made available on short notice if there were an emergency.

Are there plans for a mobile version of the Glade? Not sure if this already exists.

I think Mook installed some server-side stuff for tapatalk. I haven't used it myself, but I probably should try it.

You aren't aware of the rumor that Robert Culp was mortally wounded when he and Bill Cosby were doing wet work in Pakistan?
