I give you Entanglement.

It's an HTML5 game. I found it because Chrome picked it up to feature on their new tab page with Chrome 9 (I'm assuming the idea is to showcase their fantastic HTML5 support; try it on Chrome and Firefox, the difference is scary).

So far, my best score is a 294, with an 81 path length.

Hrm. 175 with a path of 75 on my third try.

Requires more experimentation for strategy! That time I sorta threw away my first few moves trying to set up a border of sorts with as few paths to the edge as possible. Did eventually get one sweet move near the end which got me something like 50 points itself. I'm not sure if that was luck or preparation though. :p

Could easily spend much time with this... dangerous...

You're honing in on a couple of the strategies I've come up with. As to luck or preparation, it ends up being a bit of both, as well as some calculated risks. It's actually a very clever balance of luck and skill in that way.
