Yes, but you are a foodie. I'll take a wild guess that he was referring to your lack of following the foodie quest path for always more interesting tastes.

Though I've known about sharp cheddar and apple pie for many years, I prefer it still as cheese served with the pie as opposed to sprinkled on top.

Incidentally, about a year ago I found the Dubliner Cheese in brick form at Costco and ate it regularly for about three months before I couldn't look at it anymore. You can have too much of a good thing.

I am very passionate about wonderful food. I tend spend my Saturday mornings looking for new places to eat that are out of the way and on no one's tourist lists. I prefer mom & pop places to chains; and I love my apple pies.

Also ...

Pecan Pie season. And there are 4 Sweet Potato Pies at my house right now; because ... there are things better than Pumpkin.

I like to do pecan pie as single serve tarts, that way I can send one to work with Jim (pie slices don't travel well) and taunt his coworkers. And pumpkin pie is seasonal, so I make it between halloween and christmas. Sweet potato is for the rest of the year.

I bet people who eat pie like that constantly talk about how their pie is simple and hasslefree and doesn't lock up as much as other pies.

edit: hah, that was an awesome double entendre. Raise yo hand if you like to EAT PIE!
