About 15 years ago I was hanging out at a college bar/hang-out with some friends of mine. We were up in the loft playing Star Wars Monopoly and having a good time when I needed to go downstairs for some reason. The bartender and I chatted for a bit and he asked if I wanted a beer, and said something "We have this and this and such-and-such" brands. It was pretty loud due to the music. But, I politely said no thanks (I don't drink, but don't mind hanging out with folks that do).
I went back upstairs and said to my friends, "That's a pretty cool name for a beer, I have to admit." "What?" "The guy downstairs said they had Ragnarok beer."
They laughed. "It's Amberbrock."
"Oh..... Well, damn. I'd drink a beer called Ragnarok! 'It's Norse Armageddon on your liver!' Maybe I am onto something here."
Apparently one of my friends still remembers that conversation, since he just sent me
this linkI still think it's a cool name for a beer.
