Ummm...is that really safe? I mean, if you designed it that way from the start, okay. But I'm having a hard time imaging that modifying an existing vehicle that way does you any kind of favors in a roll-over or side impact situation.

I would assume that the door is non-closable/lockable without the use of a remote device or the interior switch, meaning you're either in the car or have your keys.

I would also wager that additional structural integrity measures were added in the new door, replacing the B post's function, or perhaps even superseding it.
