My wife mentioned this last night. It was probably one of the more harder hitting celebrity deaths I've heard about in.... well as long as I can remember.

He was a great writer, actor, and director. I seem to recall that he was not going to act in Ghostbusters, only help in writing it. But they couldn't find someone who could play the character so he stepped up.

One of my favorite things he's said was in his Groundhog Day commentary. He talked about how he knew he had nailed the movie perfectly after he had multiple upon multiple denominations of faith approaching him and telling him that he encompassed their belief system exactly (and some even asked if he was of their faith).
