I am having one of these right now. It's awesome. Sierra Nevada is by far the best major micro in the country. From the company website:

I couldn't find any of the Glissade, and the Sierra Nevada one that said it tasted like bananas kinda scared me (it had a couple long, German names), so . . .

I settled on Dos Equis Lager Especial.

My rating = :)

Has a "sour" (for lack of a better term) up front taste, but has a nice after-taste. Nice effervescent texture. Not the greatest beer I've had, but enjoyable.

I really really like Heineken, which is making this experiment difficult.

Everything the put out is unbelievable. The Glissade is the spring seasonal, so if you ask your local package store about getting some, they likely can and will with ease. As far as the one with hints banana, I've never heard of it, and I can't find it on their website. If you wouldn't mind telling me what the name is, I'm going to have to track some down and try it. They haven't failed me yet.

Edit: Ohhh, nm... that's the Kellerweis. It's a hefeweizen, and it's fearkin delicious if you enjoy a good one.

That is the most important thing to remember about this whole process Rodahn. People's tastes are different. Get ten random guys in a room and you'll probably have at least five favorite beers. What is important is if you like it. Odds are your taste may change, probably will change, but if it works for you at that point in time, go with what tastes good to you.

Good for you, and enjoy beer in moderation.

The Heinie Lights are pretty good for mass produced "American Beers"

I found that Glissade today when I was getting some beer for my brats tonight. I picked up a 6er. I also got a single bottle of "Moose Drool" Brown Ale, and a large bottle of Arrogant Bastard Ale to cook my brats in.

I just picked up a twelver of Sam Adams Noble Pils today. Seems kind of a seasonal beer, as much as a mass-market beer can be (couldn't find any bock at my local grocer). Pretty tasty, made with "all 5 types of hops" or something like that.
