Hey, kids, hope you and yours and everyone you know came out of the tornadoes OK. I realize it's a big state, and you're probably well removed from the areas that got hit, but, just drop us a line, 'K?!

Anyone else who's in Mississippi, too (but if memory serves, you're it).

From the map, it looks like the tornado died down to just a heavy storm by the time it reached anywhere close to them, and the path it was on took the main brunt of the storm north of them. Another heavy storm took no mercy on a swath south of them.

Still, weather maps on the news are always suspect, and yes LK and Nitefox, pelase check in.

Hey ya'll thanks for checking in! We were actually in Tuscaloosa yesterday morning for the March of Dimes walk and eating at a restaurant when afterwards when we saw the weather warnings on TV. Ate fast, paid the check and hightailed it outta there...halfway home I was freaking out because according to the weather info there were 2 tornadoes headed straight for us and it was a race to see if we could get home before the weather did!
Fortunately for us, we made it home and the tornadoes went on the other side of town and never touched down, so we are fine and safe and sound, praise God! We had a lot of prayers in church today as farther southwest of us many people lost their homes and were injured.
Thanks for worrying about us.
