Chivalry is a pretty complex subject. Could you be a bit more specific about what you're looking for?


Mostly manners, and outwardly displays of courtesy often personified in more "genteel" times, especially among the upper class.

Examples: Holding a door for a lady, putting your coat down over a puddle to let someone cross un-splashed, pulling out/pushing in chairs, not cursing when lady's present, women and children first, etc.

Yeah, that's pretty much Victorian chivalry. Sort of an idealized version of Chivalry in the middle ages. Which was also not a monolithic philosophy.

If you're truly interested in a Renaissance version of what a proper noble should be all about, check out the Book of the Courtier. It's one of my favorites.
