I haven't updated this thread in quite awhile. I got a new tablet (Intuos Pro, woo!) and I've started a human figure drawing course (this one, if anyone is interested).

For a first crack at constructing skulls from imagination, in perspective, I'm pretty happy with they've turned out. It's definitely...frustrating. I'm bracing myself for this course to thoroughly gut my confidence before I hit a light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm pretty proud of the parrot, too, simply because I did it in about 1 hour. Definitely getting faster at this stuff.

This tried my patience. I'm just a bit that I can do this from memory now. I haven't tried rendering a 3/4 view of the whole axial skeleton yet. That should be....soul-destroying.


A handful of deer studies from photographs. This is me trying to break down proportions and volumes into something I can reconstruct at will.

I did a 1 hour draw-along in the MLPDS IRC channel for the first time in forever. The theme was "tiny things". I like how it turned out. I think I may work this one up to completion.



When I first started down this path, I couldn't conceive of executing this much in 1 hour. You know that "it gets better" campaign? They need to have one of those for artists. "It gets faster".
