Putting a number in the call notes 3 different times doesn't make it an "Alternate contact number"

Why is six afraid of seven?

Spoiler:
Seven is a registered six offender.

I'm sorry.

CNN WTF?

Quote:
E-cigarettes came to the U.S. market around 2009. The CDC now estimates about one in five Americans have tried smoking an e-cigarette -- that's about 6% of adults who smoke.

Possible Hopwin, if 20% of Americans = 6% of the adult population of the world who smoke... but I suspect you're right that this is not what they wanted to say.

Saccades are freaky. The "Your Lying Eyes" lecture at Dragon*Con's Science track this year talked (and demonstrated) a lot about them. It was very fun.

Yeah, I've known for a long time that you're effectively blind during saccades, but I didn't know that it **** with your perception of time.

Here's another freaky thing I never realized:

Stare into your eyes through a mirror. Now tilt your head to one side or the other. Your eyes will rotate in their sockets to stay right-side-up (only to a point, of course).

Huh. In high school gym class, I once made an awesome save while tending goal for a soccer game because this (or something like this) happened to me and I perceived that I had all the time in the world to put my foot in exactly the right place. I thought I'd suddenly developed some kind of superpower but it never happened again :(

We live in a 'high ground' town between a couple of flood plains, but about 15 miles away from them both. We get the same rain, but not the flooding.

I received an email from Tumblr saying that my blog has turned 2 years old today...

Oh yeah, I have a blog. I should post something on it someday.

I'm planning to ask a girl out this evening. I might be a little nervous. Yeah. Just a little. :?

Well, I could if she were here. There's a chance she might still show up at FOCUS tonight, but she wasn't in class today, and she doesn't seem like the type to skip. We shall see...

Blah. She wasn't there, either.

Now I get to torture myself for another week. Yaaaaaaaay.
