All it takes is the smallest amount of moisture and the bow drill option is not going to happen. It takes a perfect tinderball, and lots of prepped tinder in stages to get a fire going. It's easy to underestimate the elements of energy and hunger, but they make a delicate, precise task like building a fire much more difficult.
I'd rather have a trioxane patch and a lighter; if not, a flint and steel kit would be ok, but again, they require the same tinder preparation that a bow drill does.
