Huh, apparently a 'Mission Style' burrito is a real thing, and has it's own dedicated Wiki page.

Wikipedia.org wrote:
A Mission burrito (also known as a San Francisco burrito or a Mission-style burrito) is a type of burrito that first became popular during the 1960s in the Mission District of San Francisco, California. It is distinguished from other burritos by its large size and inclusion of extra rice and other ingredients.[1] It has been referred to as one of two major styles of burritos in the United States,[2] following the earlier, simple burrito consisting of beans, rice, and meat and preceding the California burrito containing cheese and potatoes that was developed in the 1980s.

The Taquerias in SF vary from fantastic to awful. Get local recommendations before you try them, should you be visiting SF. I don't stop for burritos there often, simply because we have plenty of good places here in Sacramento, but yes, the Mission Burrito is a meal by itself and the good places make some great ones.

SF, you can get pretty much any cuisine you want if you look for it. I usually look for something I can't get here.

Taquerias everywhere vary like that. Down here they range from "ZOMGSOGOODGIMMEMOAR" to "**** atrocious". They do have an advantage though: price. I can go into one good one I know of and get a plate of 3 tacos (remember, everything in South Texas is a taco, even if it's actually not) plus refried beans and rice, with a plate of chips and salsa on the table prior to the meal for about $6, not counting the drink. By contrast, I can go into Taco Palenque (a south Texas chain taco place that's surprisingly good for semi-fast-food) and 2 tacos with nothing else at all cost me almost $10. The tip evens those prices up, but you still get way more food at the smaller place.

I know. I used to get the best breakfast burritos from this lady who came to the school. I don't think they were actually made in a truck, but they were still good.
