Gilbert,
We are in the process of upgrading the core software on all of our (ve) Servers. After the upgrade, your server will be even faster and even more reliable than it already is today. The following email notice provides all the information regarding the upgrade. Please let us know if you have any questions!
AFFECTED SERVICE?:
Your primary domain: gladerebooted.org
Your service: (ve) Server - Level 2
Your service ID#: 480324
Scheduled start date: 2013-05-31 20:35:21 PST
WILL YOU BE DOWN?
Yes, briefly. The amount of time depends on the total number and size of your files. Since our network and servers are incredibly fast, the downtime should be minimal. Your upgrade could take a long time however. We will work hard to keep the impact to an absolute minimum. Please contact us if you have any serious concerns.
WHAT EXACTLY IS BEING UPGRADED?:
The base software which powers your (ve) Server is being upgraded. This will NOT change the actual operating system you use. This will NOT change your IP address(es), hosting settings, nor the the price of your service. After the upgrade your server will run even faster and more reliably.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:
Nothing. We will notify you again when the migration begins and when it has completed. Should any errors occur during the upgrade, your server will be automatically rolled back, and we will notify you of any problems while we work to resolve any issues.
FEDORA 13 & 14 USERS ONLY:
We will not be offering Fedora 13 and 14 after this upgrade. Although your (ve) Server running Fedora 13 or 14 will continue to work as expected after the upgrade, you will no longer be able to reinstall Fedora 13 or 14. Should you need to reinstall, you will need to select a different available operating system.
Thank you for your patience while we work to make your service even better. Questions? Update this support request or contact us:
http://mediatemple.net/company/contact.phpLast time we had some sort of scheduled maintenance from MT, we 'discovered' a bug in Ubuntu which caused us to be down for most of a day. Hopefully since we know about the issue this time, we can work around it and be back online quickly and painlessly.
If there are any problems, I will update my Twitter account, @Mookhow2346, with information.
