A prop designer named Harrison Krix constructed a Big Daddy costume for that last Dragon*Con. Here's a picture of him and his fiance taken at the Georgia Aquarium. It's been a little posterized but everything else is real:

More aquarium pics here. He has a blog detailing how he made the costume along with some Dragon*Con shots.

He put the suit up for sale on ebay. It's currently $850.

Damn, I'm sorry I missed seeing it in person. Dragon*Con is a big place...

Heh. He gives several disclosures about the suit on his ebay auction. I liked this one the best: "Walking anywhere in this suit is very difficult, due to the massive crowds of people which will be asking for photographs. Just kick the drill arm on and keep walking; they'll move."

Awesome pics...

Something tells me that I really should have played Bioshock. Guess this goes on the "games to pick up Used, list.

Posterization is when you reduce an image to a handful of contiguous color areas, typically with smooth (low convolution) edges. Probably the most well-known example at the moment is Shepard Fairey's "HOPE" poster (hence poster-ized).

Another example:

pre-posterized:

posterized:

They also use a variation of it in those Charles Schwab commercials

That made me LOL.

Almost makes me want to get back into theatre again.

It ended up selling for $2K, which is amusing.
