My wallet is falling apart after many years of use.

What type of wallet do you use?
Would you recommend it?
What features about it do you like, dislike?

Thanks.

I actually have a plastic clam shell wallet, similar to this one (Link is for visual purposes only, I'm not really sure what that site is.)

Pros:

It closes and stuff doesn't fall out.
Its divided, yet unified, stuff is easy to find.
different, stylish, colorful.
It holds up very well. the finish is a little chipped, but its not frayed or torn.

Cons:
Its slippery, not reccommended for loose pockets.
You can't put a lot of stuff in it. If you carry a fat wad of cash, this won't work. however if you are mostly cashless, its a smaller wallet.
It's not leather.

I gave up using a wallet years ago. I just keep everything in my pockets. My car stuff is in my car, I keep my I.D. in my shirt pocket or if I am wearing jeans, my back pocket. Cash goes in the front pocket of my pants. I don't need anything else.

$10 leather wallet from Target.

What I like:
It holds cash and cards
It's leather
It was $10

What I don't like:
Accomplishes all required tasks (see above), so...nothing.

What I use it not really a wallet. It's actually the card slip insert that comes with some wallets.

It looks something like this, minus the transparent card/picture holders. I keep my drivers licence, retiree ID, a folded $20 bill, and a few other minor essentials, and nothing more. Very minimal, as I hate bulky wallets.

I'm pretty picky about function. The card slots must face towards the fold, and not to the top or bottom edge. That way when the leather starts to stretch/loosen, stuff can't fall out.

GOOMH.

I think I picked mine up from a JC Penny's or something. I guess it's a Relic. It's a duo-fold with a perpendicular fold-out for extra card pockets and a windowed ID pocket. I like the fold-out because if I need to show my ID, I can arrange it so the ID shows out while the wallet itself is closed. Makes me feel better if I need to pass it to somebody for them to look more closely.

Of course, now most places that really care enough to look closely want the ID out so they can shine their little UV lights on it, so that's probably not a big selling point anymore.

Anyways, I like duo-folds over tri-folds because they're flatter, though I keep enough in it that it's got a bit of bulk regardless. I like leather because it provides enough rigidity that I can leave it in my back pocket without destroying plastic cards, while the corners of the leather and the spot where it folds can flex a bit and get broken in to the point where I'm not uncomfortable sitting on it in my back pocket.

This. http://www.kennethcole.com/product/inde ... mOfProd=14

It's got the window on one side, behind which goes my ID and 5 or so cards (credit, medical, etc.)

There is another slot behind this (accessed from the same narrow side that you slip you ID into) where I keep my cash. Because of the size of the pocket, cash must be folded twice to fit in. This is fine as it limits me from carrying too many bills. If I have 15 bills it's pretty stuffed.

Then there is a clip on the side opposite the window. The clip is not too big, which I prefer, since I actually don't use it (the wallet goes in my front pocket most times).

This.

It's a Dosh wallet, polyurethane resin, soft and matte-rubbery to the touch. Card holders on the inside are harder plastic type material. I hate fat wallets, anything that's a tri-fold is too big for me. I carry my driver's license, a single credit card, and two debit cards, any other information I need that might be in card form but is non-swiping, I keep in SkyDrive or OneNote.

I will admit that the edges of cards do get a little bit of friction because of the way they're laid out, and if they're poorly made, the paint can rub off. That con is outweighed by the biggest pro, which is that sometimes I can't even tell if this wallet is in my back pocket, even when sitting. Would buy again.

Now that I really look at their website, I think I could use any of their wallets and be happy.

This.
My only real complaint about it is that I've overstuffed it with business and discount cards and being leather, it stretched to accommodate but won't return to its original state. I'm now kind of stuck maintaining the thickness of it because otherwise my debit card will fall out of the exterior slot.

This. It was $10 on Amazon. Quick access to everything I need on a daily basis. Small and unobtrusive, though not in the same way ladies talk about Mus.

Checkbook wallet. I don't like my money folded, and this is so much thinner to sit on.

I've had several iterations, this current one I got at Marshal's for about $20.

Also nice to put in an inside coat pocket, and not have to dig deep to pull out.

That would personally be the thing that would be my biggest con. Being pickpocketed is so damn easy, especially in crowds when there's a lot of jostling, close proximity, and light touching here and there. In really large and populated areas like conventions, amusement parks, etc. I move my wallet to my front pocket. In general, I freak out when I can't feel my wallet.

But then, I've gone through the enormous pain of what one needs to do when there has been suspected identity theft. And it's not something I'd care to repeat.

I have one of these

It may not be anything special, but how can you not be awesome with one of these?

Heck, mine still has a couple of "Blood" splatter marks from when a friend and I went to a Halloween party as the Menendez brothers.

I also go with the money clip style wallet. My father apparently likes those massive two-fold wallets for some reason even though he can never get the damn things out of his pocket when he's driving. Consequently, I got one of these as a pass-through gift when I was 18-ish. I finally replaced it with this one last Christmas. I got so much mileage out of the old one that the leather became permanently embossed with my debit card number. :)
