We got a new kitten on Saturday. From a list of about 50 names, we've narrowed it down to Sadie, Lily, or Maggie, although we keep adding names to the list and removing them too.

She's an almost-three-month-old blue point ragdoll with a pretty balanced personality. Her sister was extremely playful, and her brother was very shy, but this one is right in the middle. The car ride home was 3.5 hours in driving rain, and she was happily sleeping on my wife's shoulder (i.e. not curled up freaking out under the seat). She is pretty well socialized, being raised in a house with close to a dozen cats and a golden retriever - she had no problems when all our kids and grandkids came over and all wanted to play with her at the same time. Most of the time she will sit to the side and watch whatever action is going on in the room, before deciding she wants to get in the middle of things. She will occasionally come cuddle during the night, but mostly wants to sleep at the end of the bed in her own space (or play with everything in the room at 2am). During waking hours she is very affectionate and fairly playful.

Seems like a Sadie to me. I'm not sure why.

Those super-pale blue eyes are amazing. She sounds wonderful!

I voted Sadie. It sounds pretty unanimous, so far.

For some reason Maggie seems right to me. Enough so that I logged in just to vote.

The picture makes her look a little gray, might be the lighting. She's mostly white, with a gray ("blue") nose and tail.

Here's a video from three weeks ago, taken by the owner of the litter, when the kittens were a little smaller. Our kitten is the calm one on the right at about 0:06. The other two are the sister and one of the brothers (I think he was already gone when we got there, though.)

White? Nuts. I loved the idea of that light gray. Still cute though.

But my suggestion of Stormshadow now doesn't fit as much.

I've got to agree with these. She definitely impressed me as a "Sadie".

I thought Ghost as well. She is a cute kitten, unfortunately she will grow up to be a cat. :P

(Dog person here, please don't hate me. :D )

Sadie it is. This was already our first choice coming into the poll, so I'm glad that worked out. Thank you everyone for your feedback!

Doesn't bother me. Dogs, cats, doesn't matter, I'm an animal person :)

One last picture for the thread...

Congrats!

I would have voted Sadie too, but that's the name of my large dog. Just didn't feel right to suggest it. ;)

She's doubled in size since we got her, and has determined that human feet are her mortal enemy to be slain at all costs.

I know I said "one last picture" but here are some more, because.

I have an idea about how to discourage your cat from sleeping in the sink.

I got up at 3am to use the bathroom and found her there.

In the summer months our room is very warm at night. She's got very thick fur, so she's taken to sleeping in the tub, sink, bathroom floor, anywhere she can cool off.

Thinking of getting one of these, but generally cats hate anything that you buy them. ("New toys? Screw you, I'll play with this piece of paper for three hours.")
