Supposed to be below freezing first time this season tonight, storm coming through, may be snow. I am so glad I can take the bus to work if I want. I hate driving in snow among people who have no clue about how to do that. Not that there would ever be enough snow down here to truly affect traffic, if it weren't for the gawkers. |

Heh, yeah, LA is looking at four days of rain, apparently. I'd kill for snow, but will settle for hail. Let's hear it for public transit. |

BOOOOOOO! Snow is evil and must be destroyed at all cost. The only ice I want to deal with is in my drink. |

Snow in Michigan is fairly endemic, isn't it? Could be worse, you could live on the upper peninsula. |

Yes. We have had it early as October and as late as April and early May. If I could afford to move so I would never have to see the white **** again I would. |

If it snows here, it will be 10 minutes worth, and I'll probably be asleep when it happens! I remember the last time it snowed here, was right after I came home from hospital after my hysterectomy Jan., 29, 2000. I ran out into the front yard and danced with the snowflakes in my robe and slippers for the whole 10 minutes it snowed!! |

It's been a long time since I've seen snow that wasn't up on the mountains. It doesn't snow here. And I am glad. Snow is something you visit, not something you live in. |

It snowed here in Mississippi on Friday night, believe it or not. But it was very light, brief, and nothing stuck. Guess it was more like angel dandruff than snow, really. I miss snow. |

I am not a fan of driving in snow, or shoveling it. But there is nothing like a white Christmas. After Christmas though, I want it gone. |

Woke up Monday morning to our first covering of snow here in Chicago. |

Got about 5 inches two days back. Grr. Cleaning off cars, driving in the stuff, shoveling snow... making it a pain to take out the garbage, put the dogs out (or let them in when their frozen cables get stuck around stuff!), or do just about anything else outside... The only redeeming quality for me is the occasional moments where it just looks awesome. I live in a tiny tiny tiny little town tucked in between two mountain ridges. When we get a good half foot+, all you need is a photograph from a helicopter at twilight and I'd be living in a stereotypical winter painting. I just wish I could bring that to mind more when I'm untangling frozen cables thinking of how much nicer this would be in summer when I'd enjoy being outside... :p |

Yup, raining here in LA right now. Apparently, there was snow here in LA - real snow, not the 1/4 inch of hail that they call a snowfall - in 1949. I tell my kids they'll be lucky if they see that in their lifetimes here in LA. Hopwin wrote: Hmmm... I am the only one here who loves the snow unconditionally? No. Granted, I haven't actually lived in it since Moscow in the mid-90s, but I do enjoy it. My California-born wife was terrified at times, especially when it started to thunder and lightning during a whiteout. I was ecstatic. |

Hopwin wrote: Hmmm... I am the only one here who loves the snow unconditionally? I grump at it occasionally, usually when there's shovelling involved or traffic has slowed to a crawl due to accidents, but I love snow, too. |

It snowed here in Texas on Saturday. Snows on average once every 4 years here. This was the earliest snow ever here. (one in the eye for global warming...) |

No, it's actually a confirmation, SG. The way I understand it, GW actually predicts more extremes of temperature and climatic events, along with a general rise in temperature. I could be wrong, of course. |

It's been raining all day here. And, of course after the sun baked the roof over the summer and cracked all of the tar, our roof is leaking. **** you, winter! |

Nobody gets out of here alive. Best we can hope for is that our genes live on in other people for a millennium or more, long after we're forgotten. |

It rained all day here in the Valley of the Sun. Made for good sleep for me today...perfect temperature, not much light, and free white noise from the falling rain. But I miss being awake for staying in for an all day of rain, just lazing about not doing much of anything. It's just not the same at night for some reason. Oh, and I just got new patio furniture...just in time for the rainy cold snap. At least it looks nice... |
