It is raining in Sacramento and many other parts of California. This does not end the worst drought in Northern California in the last 150 years, but it is a start. Hooray!

Yea! Hope that it heads down our way or, more importantly, up over the Sierras. We have some municipalities that get some of their water from groundwater sources, but just dumping a foot or two or snow on the Sierras would do us more good.

From what I hear, you folks could use some conservation measures up there, too. Is it really true that most houses don't have a water meter on them? That's a crazy idea to me.

We got enough precipitation to wet the sidewalks here. It has been overcast, humid, and warm all day. We need a whole lot more precipitation than what we got today. :(

We can send you a few thousand trainloads of snow, if you'd like.

Send them to the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada. Some on the eastern slopes near Reno and Vegas might help those towns too. We need the melt to refresh the rivers and fill the lakes. Some filtering down into heavily depleted aquifers is kind of critical at this point.

Weather control would be nice. Corolinth, would you start working on that please?

Please take some of ours.

My gauge ended January with 11.62 inches of rain, the rainiest January as far as data goes back (1895).

Using a 30 year average, we have enough rain from this January to carry us through to May 4th. (This is normally our dry season too.)
