I've given notice. December 9 2014 I will leave the service of the State of California.

I no longer have any ambition to get things done. My morale sucks, and I will reach one of the logical dates to retire on that date. I do not feel I am giving the good taxpayers of California their money's worth anymore. To continue on would
Be theft. It take about six months to run the paperwork through. This is an odd feeling.

My morale is picking up a little since I made the decision known.

Never imagined I would live this long.

Good for you man.

What are you going to do with your free time?

Good luck Micheal. Despite what you think, you're still young! Your life is now an open book for you to fill many new great chapters with.

Right now I'm considering options. A trip out to various places. Maybe go visit some of you. Work on the three novels I've started and gone nowhere with for the last year. More SCA almost certainly. Next year will be interesting.

Outstanding man!

As for not expecting to live this long. Well, lets just say you saw the signs before you drove off the cliff.

Good luck Micheal. One thing you need to do is to remain active...get daily exercise, eat healthy, maintain your social contacts. Retirement can change people...some for the better, others for the worse. Please be one of the "for better". :)

Congrats! As a California taxpayer I certainly wouldn't have considered you a thief, but if leaving makes you happy, more power to ya.

Congratulations!

As long as you are retiring TO something and not Away from something you should do well.

I did the latter and if I had not had to deal with my son I am not sure what would have happened. Now I have several things I am doing and enjoy greatly so all is well here.

I have plans for the first few months. After that I see a routine rising of setting new plans depending on weather and opportunity. I no longer care to have a set daily routine.

I am Rynar. Next time I tour the country I won't be in a hurry. Take six months to do it, go on the cheap and easy. Flirt a lot. Get over to Ireland finally. Still deciding on the places I want to go and the people I want to see. Might even stop by Rhode Island and drop in.
