I was almost a Canadian. I would have gladly taken British Columbia over Miss'ippi growing up.

Here's some good Canadian Rock and Roll, hopefully helping you poor uncultured types who, when given a choice of musicians to import, bring over Bieber and Dion instead of somebody decent.

Learn to love The Tragically Hip.

The T-Hip suck. So does Rush. I'd bring up Bryan Adams, but Canada already apologized for that one. I'll grant you Canucks that Moist was kinda cool back in the 90's but there just ain't any good music coming out of Canada. Good music comes from pain and being cold all the time just ain't enough to count.

Incoming Canadian Ear Worm

The original version live

And he still does a pretty good job (although I'd prefer without the audience participation thing)

OH HEY! Them are fighting words! Do not tarnish the solid musical legacy that is Bryan Adams!

All of whose bodies of work are at least 15 years old, now. Okay, so I don't recognize like two of the names, so they might be newer.

But the point is, Screeling used the present tense.

My best friend and gaming partner lives in British Columbia. I can't wait to be able to go up and visit and have him show us around. Some of the pictures he has sent me over the years are just incredible! :)

Kaffis: What's wrong with the classics?? Some of the best music is oldies but goodies! :)

True, but his post referenced similarly old groups, so I took his statement to be broader than just the current Canadian scene. But hey, if it's current stuff you want, few can compare to the artistry of Bieber and Avril Lavigne. :suicide:

...Leonard Cohen, Nomeansno, Godspeed You! Black Emperor (okay I'm eclectic). Oh and I will listen to the lead vocalist for Metric all day.

Going back to Halifax in a few weeks. I still have this inexplicable love affair going with the Maritimes.

/40yearoldmother on
There's not much current music from ANY country that's any good.

Or, more accurately, I can't judge Canadian music from the 2010's vs. American music from the 2010s because I don't like any of it.

Yes, but you actually liked "Moist" at one time, so none of your preferences count. It's clear you like crappy music. :P

Placed in context of music and Neil Young having been mentioned, this is... controversial.
