The Cincinnati Rollergirls announced today that the team is changing its name to the "Nasty Nati Rollers" to better reflect the mission, goals and overall character of the organization, effective immediately.
"I hope our new name and logo draws attention back to the sport of flat track roller derby and to the athleticism of the skaters," said veteran skater and Leadership Team member Hannah Barbaric, adding, "That's Miss Barbaric if you're Nasty."
The new name, in addition to a striking new black-and-green logo, reflect the team's love of alliteration, city nicknames that never quite caught on, skyline imagery in logos and a giant pair of roller skates, just in case there was any doubt about what kind of rolling we're talking about.
