Guys, there's a good chance we might get flooded tonight. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers, that it doesn't come to pass. http://ahps.srh.noaa.gov/ahps2/hydrogra ... gage=elba1 |

Thanks all. And yeah, "Five Feet High, and Risin'" has been running through my head all day... We might not get flooded. Or we may. I'm praying we don't. NOAA's updated with a more current actual level, but the expected crest is still the same, which is good. |

Well, I could send dingoes, but they are notoriously poor dam builders... And, no, I have zero influence over beavers! =P |

Aye, that's me. Also, I just noticed that I said "overflown" instead of "overflowed." *sigh* I'm a little distracted today. |

And I was also hoping you would call it the Pee River /snark. I *definitely* wouldn't want that overflowing into my house :p |

No, that's a tributary that's going to be originating inside the house, from the puppy not being able to go outside. |

Deep, but not freakishly, he'd fit right in at any of my family's gatherings. Of course, if FarSky is so nervous he's squealing like a girlyman on the video, then yes, his voice would be freakishly deep. |

Thanks again, all. If the water has indeed crested, we're doing well. It didn't move much from that video snippet I showed you; it has encroached an couple of feet onto the road a block and a half down, but the farthest houses haven't been flooded. I'm never one to count my chickens before they drown, but if this is indeed the worst of it, we (and actually everyone else here) are coming out OK. What I can definitively say is that right now, we're fine; Phe and I are taking turns staying up and watching the NOAA data, in case we need to grab the babies and get in the car. Ugh, two cats and one dog in the car for the night...that doesn't sound fun. |
