The Glade 4.0

I googled Revultant Whip. I ended up on EQ Outrider. I then wondered "Whatever happened to the Glade?" Now, here I am, and I recognize names, and it is all the sudden 2003 again.

So, how's gettin' old going for you guys? I'm still Rangering over on Firiona Vie. Married now. Just turned 35, and got to see one of my favorite bands ever for the first time on said birthday. We were in Charlotte for the show, and man, is that a gorgeous city. Holy crap, 35...I was 21 when I started playing EQ! I play some STO now too.

Good things have happened. Bad things have happened. Life and such, ya know. Trying to finally get it together and get CompTIA certs, but having problems with motivation. Depression is a bastard. Pills made it worse.

Does Ven come around anymore? I have been wondering about him. We lost touch quite a while back. Last time I talked to him was before the wife was the wife, and we were slap in the middle of a HUGE fight, so it wasn't really a good time, heh.

Heh, I instinctively put Kundow as my name instead of Firevine like I do everywhere else.

Anyway, good to see you Rangers. 4.0 eh? The hell did I miss? Last I really remember was Sunmoon selling off the site, lots of spam coming in, and I poked around on 2.0 a bit, but something about the site just felt...off.

Welcome back! The board is more of a general interest thing instead of being focused on EQ, but many of us are in it for the long haul. I was 16 back when I discovered The Glade originally, 12 years later, here we are.

Ven is trying to access the board but is having problems proving he's not a bot. He's still alive and kicking down in the Carolinas somewhere.

Good to hear from you. I retired this last year and have been playing some EQ2 with some friends from the original.

Life goes on. Some of us are still here. It has gotten pretty quiet over the last year or so.

You know what's crazy about EQ these days? Soloing old raid stuff. I'm waiting for the Rathe Council to pop now. I tore through the Macho Man in a matter of seconds a few week sago. Kundow has 103k hp! Orcs and Wood Elves living together! Mass hysteria! Just about anything that isn't instanced is perma camped. There's still some oldsters in the serverwide ranger channel, but it's generally pretty quiet.

Definitely nice to see some familiar names. An old Magic: the Gathering forum I frequented about the same time as Glade 1.0 is deader than Elvis these days, so it will be nice to chit chat here a bit.

They added instanced content to EQ?

Yeah, way back in Lost Dungeons of Norrath, but they've expanded from there. Basically any modern raid content is instanced, "Heroic Missions" (which are boring as hell) are instanced, storyline/flagging content is mostly instanced.

I know, right? It's pretty disgusting.
