Here we are 5 months into our new residency in Moody AL. It is not nearly as bad as I expected it to be out here. Wait... except for **** you to all of the insect kingdom. I did not move my Irish *** out here to become a McBuffet.

Otherwise we kind of like it here. I am enjoying the small town feel of Moody in contrast to the Big City life of Las Vegas. I have heard no Banjo music played by a mongoloid. I have not been converted to the Baptist way of life. I miss a few things about Vegas: my friends, my kids, my family. But I never truly fell in love with the town itself.

I do miss the food; God Damn we had a lot of good food in Vegas. I miss Carlito's Burritos, I miss Roberto's, I miss being able to go to a bar at 2am and order food. I miss being out at Karaoke until 5am. I miss getting a decent Philly Cheesesteak.

That said: BBQ: not a damned thing in Vegas unless it was moose or I cooking tastes as good as the BBQ out here, the Soul Food is amazing too.

The people have all been friendly and polite.
I still cannot find my way anywhere other than work, but that will take time.
Our dog loves it out here.
And the chance to take time with my wife, without the kids around: Magical, we enjoy being newly weds still, even though we are a full year into this marriage.
It has been an awesome little adventure.

I like this. It works on several levels.

Keep it alive as long as you can! Congrats on your new life adventure! :)

You're lucky you have soul food. Up here in northeast Missouri, the only difference between restaurants is who puts more butter on it.
