Which is tastier? Choose wisely!! Discuss ....

While crabs are tastier, lobsters are generally more satisfying, p4p and then of course, there's lobster tails ... nomnomnom.

Crab > lobster. In all regards.

Lobster. I prefer artificial crab meat to the real stuff. Which is made, one assumes, from artificial crabs.

Crab, all day, any day over lobster. I've had lobster three times, each time I wish I had something else. It just wasn't that good.

Despite the popular name, crab sticks do not actually contain any crab. In fact the primary ingredient in most crab sticks is minced Alaska pollock from the North Pacific[citation needed], often mixed with egg albumen or other binding ingredient[1]. To make the characteristic crab stick, crab flavouring is added to the meat (either artificial or crab-derived), and finally a layer of red food colouring is applied to the outside.
From a health point of view, quality imitation crab is usually lower in cholesterol than real crab meat, but is also highly processed.

Crab > Lobster. I can eat crab anytime. Lobster's just meh.

Plus, the crab TV show's better than the lobster one...

I've never tried either. Never had shrimp. Never been a big fan of seafood...they don't look (or smell) appetizing to me.

Not a big fan of either, but I can at least tolerate crab. I have tried the lobster and I just don't get it. It wasn't that good.

So if I must choose, crab it is with a side of steak

BTW, I was hoping this was not a "taste" test, rather a duel to the death poll. In that case, I put my money on the lobstrosities.

Which is easier to eat? Crab or lobster? Both are too expensive, not much in my budget ATM.

Lobster is too rich. I'll take crab.

It's not often you find Bostonian who will say that.

I've pretty much only had lobster tails, and those are usually presented with the meat on top of the shell, making it pretty easy to eat. Crab legs can take some work, but that's part of the fun, if you ask me. I actually try not to use the cracker all that much. It's not that hard with softer shelled crab, like snow crab, but king crab's a different story. But king crab's got so much more meat, and it tastes better to me. Just wish it wasn't so pricey.

Lobster are easier to eat. They also have more meat per similarly sized critter. They also taste better, in my opinion.

That being said I haven't had one in many years. Way too expensive out here.

Since I don't eat shellfish I based my vote on who I think would win in a fight. A lobster versus a lobster's weight in crabs.

Generally, it's made from whitefish (generally Alaska pollock for its mild flavor) that has been treated with salt and sugar to change its flavor and texture.

the problem is most people have only tried lobster from Red Lobster--even upscale restraunts tend to butcher it rather badly.

I've had real Maine Lobster steamed at an actual lobster bake in Maine. Its all the difference in the world.
