Over the weekend, I had a video shoot in Crossville, Tennessee. During a pre-production planning meeting, one of my employees mentioned that there was a site near the venue that was on her bucket list, The Minister's Treehouse. I'd never heard of it, but I decided to take them up there after we finished our shoot.

It was, hands down, one of the most amazing locations I've ever experienced. In 1993, a local landscaper claimed he had a four-second vision from God, who told him to build Him a treehouse, and that he'd never run out of material. So he did. For fourteen years. It's 97 feet tall, spanning seven still-living trees. It's been abandoned and closed since the fire marshal closed it in 2012.

It's absolutely wild. More pictures and stuff here: https://medium.com/@mgolden/the-ministe ... .4ychau1tn

It is pretty neat looking.

On the Left Coast, in San Jose, across town from Jasmy, we have the Winchester Mystery House. Fancier, bigger, not as tall anymore thanks to the 1906 Earthquake but still pretty nifty and an open tourist trap.

That's pretty cool. It looks like a Fallout 4 settlement structure/

On the left coast, you also have Salvation Mountain

And not too terribly far from Farsky, there is Junior Banks' Fortress of Faith

Probably lots of nutty people in the US that have built similar projects of interest. :)

Tourist trap it might be, but a great example of wonderful woodwork none the less. I was a tour guide there for a couple of years. It was the best job I ever had,

Man - good thing there weren't any fire marshals back when Noah built the ark.

Or anyone with any basic marine construction knowledge to tell him that a wooden vessel that size is impossible to make seaworthy...

Or anyone with basic zoological knowlege to tell him he doesn't have enough room for two of every mammal, let alone reptiles, birds, amphibians...

Or anyone with some basic botanical knowledge to tell him that he was also going to have to gather up samples of all the plants or there wouldn't be any terrestrial plants left after a few weeks submerged....

One could go on.

Or one could stick to the conversation about the cool treehouse, instead of going on one's usual tirade.

I was trying to remember where I had first heard about this place. Too bad, would have been cool to visit some day.
