So I'm not anybody's doctor. But I come across things that I feel are worthwhile for y'all to know. Figured I would start sharing as I encounter them. To that end... Biotin supplements are interfering with thyroid test assays, potentially leading to falsely elevated TSH levels (hyperthyroidism). Bottom line: if taking a biotin supplement, lay off 3-5 days before you do your blood draw for a TSH lab. https://endocrinenews.endocrine.org/jan ... of-biotin/ |

Certain lots of valsartan are being recalled. If taking valsartan (usually for high blood pressure, kidney disease, or heart failure), check with your pharmacy to see if your lot is tainted with a known carcinogen. Supposedly combo meds (valsartan + thiazide diuretic) are not impacted, but wouldn't hurt to verify.
