I see people pop in occasionally. If you see this, say hi and let us know what is new in your neck of the woods. Also, if you are interested, the Glade discord server is still running. We have approximately 30 people who are joined. The invite is in the pinned messages, or you can use this invite link: https://discord.gg/T5QnMGC There is also the Glade subreddit, which is also in the pinned messages. It is not really active as far as I have seen, but that does not mean we cannot make it so. As a bonus, I am not actually running that one. |

In my 2019 update, I mentioned my interim supervisor position and my divorce. Since then, I have moved into the permanent spot, although due to to job title voodoo I am a manager rather than a supervisor. I also got a dog, who is very cute and mild mannered. I am not sure if I picked a shy quiet dog because it matched my temperament, or if she just picked up my temperament from being near me. After a hard diet/exercise campaign I was able to get my weight down from 205 lbs to 145. Unfortunately I started having stamina related exercise issues in 2022, and this year I finally asked my doctor about it. She referred me to a cardiologist, and he told me I had blockage in my heart. Fortunately I did not suffer a heart attack or anything extreme, so I guess we found it early before it could cause a big event. I did have to go into the hospital twice and ended up having 5 stents put in my heart. In the two years I was having issues, my weight wandered back up to 170 or so, but I am working to get it back down. I also sold my house and moved into an apartment this year. I think I will probably buy a small house in a year or two, though. |

Mookhow...I am amazed at your physical/medical journey...and very glad they found the blockage "early". For myself, I am at 205 and my goal for this year is 185...which I haven't been since probably 2005. For my 2024 personal life highlights, my oldest child came of drinking age and my youngest of driving, I became chief engineer of a nice quiet-ish airplane program supporting the Navy, and I started doing sound for a local band that has turned into opportunities to play guitar on a song or two at most gigs (I even had a literal 15 minutes of fame when the lead guitarist had to leave early and I covered for him...for 15 minutes). Oh yeah...and got all the wife's student loans paid off (paid...not forgiven) just in time to start taking them out for my kids...all three will start university at the same time. Ugghh.... |

205? I would murder folks to get down to 205. I have been on the struggle bus for the last couple of years. I went from 280, down to 225 and back up to 260. |

Still alive! The end of the day today is the last day that I'll be being paid to work, I'll be officially retired! Yay me! Monday, I go down to BJC to talk to transplant coordinators to get me a couple of new lung.. maybe. I lost 40 lbs by using a recumbent exercise bike for an average of 110 min/day over the last 6 months. BMI is at the top "normal" now. Who'd ever believe I'd qualify in any category as normal! Hidey ho, neighbors! |
