Following DFK!'s suggestion, we are going to create a moderation council who will try to keep the Glade a nice place to live. Hopefully they will not go mad with power and doom us all. The names of the moderators will be announced at a later time. edit: The current moderators are: DFK!, Talya, Micheal, and Lenas. |

I propose that the names remain secret, and the council only post to the board as "The Shadow Council" And they should refer to themselves always in the third person. |

I second that proposal. |

See, my plan is brilliant. That way, we get moderation, and we don't have to worry about favoritism and whatnot. Posters can continue to post, and we don't need to worry about being moderated because they're abusing their powers. Its flawless! |

*deadpan* Until they go mad with power and begin making plans for the Restoration of the Glade. |

Or they could be "The Shadow Proclamation" =)~ The Shadow Proclamation was a galactic government concerned with upholding Galactic Law, as well as a set of rules governing it |

Shadow Council was quite an accomplished guild that eventually made the tier 2 to 1 leap (up with Valon and CTV) on Terris Thule. Wonder if there are any left. |

So I know two people would like to be moderators, anyone else interested hit up either myself or Mookhow. We could use at least one more, I'll be happy to help where I can but I'm not on as much as many of you. |

So what happens when people figure out who they are? Because you know there are people who will take it as a challenge to find out, and then reveal it. |

Yeah, I was in the guild for quite a while when I still played. I think I may still have a character tagged under them (if they even exist anymore.) |

Will there be a very clear list of rules and procedures? If moderation is happening right now, can we please have that as soon as possible? |

Monte wrote: Will there be a very clear list of rules and procedures? If moderation is happening right now, can we please have that as soon as possible? The only thing currently agreed-upon that I know of by the moderation staff is that Ad Hominem posts are disallowed. I'm sure a more formal list beyond just "DFK!'s opinions" will be forthcoming as we create it. I personally have issues with trolling and flame-baiting threads, but until clear guidelines on that are created I won't issue any warnings or the like, though I may lock a thread that seems to have been created intentionally for that purpose. Any objections to moderatory decisions should, IMO be taken to the admin. Direct refusal or objection to moderation is, on most forums I've seen, disallowed as well. Anything I do as a mod will be in this bolded and italicized text for clarity. |

I would appreciate a clear and concise definition of what constitutes an Ad Hominem post, please. Furthermore, I would like to know if there would be any procedure in place to lodge a complaint about biased moderation. That kind of power is very easily abused. |

We're obviously not going with the idea of hidden moderators. Now that one moderator is in action, I think a list of the moderating council should be posted. |

Click "The Team" on the bottom left of the forum list. Unless that doesn't show up on your skin...? |

Ultimately, someone is going to have to make a subjective judgment regardless if the appeal goes all the way to the highest authority on this board. Just keep that in mind, and I think everyone will be satisfied. |

Do moderators have specific board assignments? In other words, is there one that covers say, General and Rants, and another that covers Hellfire and Sports? |

If anyone has a complaint about a moderation action, send a PM to Dash or myself (or both) detailing what moderation you feel was unjust and what thread it was in. |
