How do you feel about make-up? Girls answer for yourself, guys answer for what you like on women....or yourself if you swing that way. (There was some talk of guyliner earlier...)
I looked around my Sunday school class last week and realized I was the only woman not wearing any. There were 3 women that had their make-up applied to enhance what they already had for a 'natural look' and the rest of the woman had it caked on.
I don't mind wearing make-up on special occasions or when I feel like dressing up, but that is generally only once a month if that. And when I do wear make-up, its generally just mascara, blush, and lipstick. Very rarely do I put on foundation, eyeliner, eyeshadow, etc and I can only think of twice in my life I've ever used concealer.
I like to recognize who I am in the mirror in the morning, and makeup makes me feel not like myself. (which can be fun on some occasions......)

I am not a big makeup fan, a little bit to accent a feature is ok but when women cake it on it is a mess. It ruins your clothes, sheets, stains the tub/sink. Ugh.

I prefer natural. (I'm not opposed to covering up blemishs though) But I also like makeup for what it represents; particularly if I know my date is wearing it for me. I like that they're making an effort to attract me.

Makeup should be tasteful though. it should be designed to accentuate someone's best features, not add something that isnt there.

(sorry, I'm probably one of the few guys here who has actually taken classes in makeup, granted theatrical makeup, but I could talk intelligently about it with my ex-wife who wouldn't go 3' from her makeup kit, and who's idea of a fun saturday evening would be sitting in the bathroom trying to duplicate the look of some movie actress)

So, what you're saying is, after me and Kirra pin you down in the mud, you're gonna give us make-overs?

Overall, I prefer the lightly enhanced look, almost natural, just a little here and there to accentuate the feature. However, it truly depends upon the woman, the situation, the purpose.

My wife had bad acne scarring that left her face slightly mottled. I didn't mind, but for her self image she need the even tones that she got through her make-up.

When we were first together she wouldn't let me see her without her make-up on. Over time that changed. I respected her needs, didn't insist, just kept being affectionate whatever she looked like.

I've felt for a long time that the thicker the make-up the more insecure the woman.

My wife (and I, for that matter) go for the little (rarely) to none (usually). I've dated women in the past who caked it on like it was 15 year exterior latex, which was never fun 'cause after intimate moments I wound up wearing almost as much as they did.

TheRiov, I'd like to point out that LadyKate is married to a fairly bright man of the southern country tradition. Even if she doesn't catch on (doubtful) he will.

As for what I wear, normaly all I do in the morning is mosturize, put a little translucent powder to cut down any shine and mascara, and if i'm going out (not to work) then lip gloss, occationally i'll do up my eyes more with eyeliner and shadow, but that's really the most I do outside of when i'm going to something like a goth night, I fortunatly don't need much because I have a good complexion.

As for on other women I basically like that same that I wear, overdone makeup doesn't look good imo.

None is good. A little, usually around the eyes without overdoing it, is nice on special occasions, especially when, as Riov alluded, I get the feeling it's being done for my benefit.

Daily, just lip balm. On those rare special occasions just some eye shadow, mascara, powder blush, and light coat of lipstick.

the more intimidated i am by a place.. the thicker the make up..
the more at ease i am about a person.. the less the make up..

going out with best friends.. none
work .. professional make up
clubbing .. sexy eyes make up
getting something i want ... innocent make up + extra sexy lips

i don't do cakey.. normally a very light foundation with mineral powder makes my features more visible..
eye liners are a must for asian eyes.. or i disappear into the cloud

of course all that being said it only takes me 10min max to do all those things hehe...

If I'm going out casually (once or twice a week) I wear light foundation or powder to even out my splotches (rosacea), eye liner, and tinted lip gloss. If I'm 'going out' (once a month, tops) I'll inrease to foundation AND powder, maybe blush, eye liner, mascara, and lipstick. Probably something sparkly on my eyes, too. The hardest part is finding makeup pale enough for me that doesn't make me look goth (porcelain colors with golden undertones, not pink or blue)

Most of the time my face is bare... except for the sunscreen I wear daily.

So Riov.... Just what do I need to do to my makeup routine? I freely admit I don't wear any to work and put my hair in a bun.. When I go out ( which is decidely a rare event) I usually just put on some powder, maybe some eye shadow and clear lip gloss and that's about it.

I'll point out that my experience is in theatrical makeup. I can make you look about 20 years older and can do some to make someone look a bit younger, that sort of thing, but theatrical makeup is applied much heavier and pronounced than street makeup (and has to be able to survive under very bright/hot stage lighting.

tinted lip gloss and eyeliner. If your skin tone is even all you ever need is to enhance your features... a little extra pink on your lips (you want it to look as if you have natural color) and a narrow lining with liner the same color as your eyelashes on your upper lid.

Little to none.

Nothing normally, but the very light stuff can be used for special occasions. I absolutely can not stand lipstick under any circumstances, though. Gloss is ok if it's light enough and clod enough outside I need it for practical purposes.
