Blueberries Improve Memory in Older Adults
Quote:
Robert Krikorian of the University of Cincinnati's Department of Psychiatry and his colleague published a paper suggesting that the anthocyanins in the berries may boost neuronal signaling and help get rid of glucose in the brain, both of which would slow the death of brain cells.

Oh good, there's still time to make them a controlled substance.

They can have my blueberries when they pry them from my cold, dead fingers.

Tasty, tasty blueberries!

Much <3 for blueberries. Good thing too with a dozen very productive pants in my yard. We typically pick about 2 quarts a week every June to August.

I had a bowl of blueberries with my egg sandwich this morning. Very tasty.

Also enjoy them plus other berries on my cereal, along with a half tablespoon or so of cinnamon.

They're in season somewhere right now, I can get 16 oz. for $4 at the grocery near me.

Love the blueberries.

Mine are great, although not as "intense" a flavor as some blueberries I've had. I think it is mostly due to how large they get. Instead of little beads (pea sized) like you see in muffins and pancakes at most places, they are usually 2-3 times the volume and the largest getting a big as grapes.

What about huckleberries? We don't get them out here.

Depends on variety and rain amount. But generally yes they are more plump.

I love wild blueberries. They grow all over northern Michigan. I would go out with a kids sand bucket and come home with it full.
