But I didn't step on a pop-top, nor did I cut my heel and have to cruise on back home.

That truely blows, bro. I, myself, actively try not to wear anything other than flip-flops unless I absolutely have too, and even then, often enough I still err on the side of inappropriate toe nudity. My toes simply demand to be free!

I wear them even in the dead of New England winters, although I do relent and wear boots to shovel.

I totally feel your pain. There's nothing worse than a blown out flop. Especially when they are all broken-in and contoured to your feet as that one seemed to be.

Flip-flops suck nutsack for anything other than taking a shower. If you're going to wear sandals, get something with an ankle strap.

These have been like foot gloves for the past couple of years. They survived almost anything I've thrown at them so far, and it just wore out.

I even wore them when we were re-epoxying the swimming pool. I still have little bits of epoxy and plaster on them from then.

From almost a year ago.

These flops truly deserve to be placed on a funeral pyre and sent on to Valhalla.

The major problem though is going to be not walking like a gimp to the Oakley store to get some new ones

You should get some real foot gloves. Let me know if you do, been kind of curious to see how those actually work.

But, yeah, I'm not a flip-flop guy at all. Even in the shower, I'll just wear my Tevas.

Use to love flops, my feet don't fit them anymore and the last few pair i got when I did fell apart way too quickly, damn imports.

Ugh, I hate sandals. I can't run in them!

My logic is if I'm doing anything that I can't do barefoot, I'll require a good pair of shoes.

Nah. I needed new flops, but they didn't have the ones I wanted in stock. These will do for now ;)

They are *very* comfortable. Like standing on a velvet painting of Elvis as his dulcet tones soothe my tired feet with rhythmic sonic vibrations.

I'll be ordering some flops from their online store soon though. ;)

Hell yeah.

There are sandals that celebrate the whole laid-back, knock-around beach lifestyle. And there are sandals that wrap casual attitude in Italian leather and create something far more refined. This design is at the top of the second category. It’s called STRAP JACKET, and because it carries our icon, you know it’s more than just style. We rendered it with a supple lining that combines neoprene with moisture-wicking action, plus Microban® treatment to help control odor. Thanks to polyurethane foam beneath the Italian leather facing, the anatomical footbed actually beds your foot in comfort. Sure footing comes from an outsole of vulcanized rubber that we formulated for high traction and durability. A true metal icon puts the finishing mark on this premium rendition.
