So does a goatee count as a beard for the purposes of beard guy gang? or does it have to be a beard? What if one cannot get an evenly growing beard? What if growing a full beard would make someone fairly young look like Santa? |

As for evenly growing -- if your beard (this is why the term is full beard; "beard" alone is the hair itself, and is synonymous with "facial hair" -- even a clean-shaven guy has a beard; he just shaves it off every day) is thick enough overall to warrant wearing a full beard, minor variances in evenness can be remedied by not trimming it overly short. A little length will cover up inconsistency in density and, to some extent, color, as well. I say this as somebody who's starting to show blond patches in my dark beard; a precursor, I assume, to outright greying. Fortunately, they're on the underside of my chin so far, and so long as I don't trim it under a quarter inch or so, the brown blends with it pretty well and keeps it from looking weird. |
