Going to a Q&A with Kevin Smith on Friday night. I've been thinking about it for months and I can't come up with anything. I may just sit in my seat and let everyone else do the work. That being said, if you had a question for him it would be...?

Jersey Girl: WTF were you thinking???
Follow-up: Ben Affleck, all the time? Really? <then you smack him>

Ask him if he has considered combining his passion for films with his passion for comics. There are still quite a few good comics out there that could be adapted to films.

Ask him whether one seat in first class, or two in coach is better.

I would ask a two part-question.
As a film-maker, what scene or film are you most proud of? (so, not Haley<his daughter>)
And, as a film-maker, what scene or film do you most regret?

Keep me posted.

Why do you think I should have to pay extra so your fat *** can ride on an airplane.

I would totally be that guy--but what did Kevin Smith say about airplane seats?

The line to ask questions was way to long. I just enjoyed myself and laughed my *** off for hours. He put on a Springsteen like performance, three hours on nothing but a bottle of water. Any one of you ever get a chance to check him out, it is well worth the price.

Nope. I don't care how funny he is, he's a **** jerk who wants to use his fame to make my plane tickets more expensive because he won't put down the **** twinkies.

What actually happened.

Quote:
The Southwest rep who called Smith to apologize for his mistreatment, a woman named Linda, admitted that the situation was clumsily handled and that Smith was removed because they were trying to find room for a fatter passenger who had already purchased two seats.

Or you could, y'know, find out what actually happened.

Yeah... they were covering there asses. I've heard everything both sides of this had to say, and I saw how they marched sloppily into a law office, and came to a resolution that allowed both sides, who were both taking hits in the media, walk away as painlessly as possible.

"Hooray, I can still be fat, and still feel OK about myself in the public eye, and you don't have to fight whatever quasi-NAACP organization represents douche-bag fat guys. Win-Win."

he's not that big. I mean, he's overweight, but he's not the type of person who should need two seats.

He had the seat belt on. They still booted him.

I just had a chance to sit down and watch this - the man is someone I'd love to work with on a regular basis.

Seats no commercial airlines are too fscking small. So are the drivers compartments of most automobiles.

It's not just about the width, which is too narrow, but the knee/leg room, shoulder room, etc.. all far too inadequate for anyone over 6' 3" and 230lbs.

Its not all that great for anyone over 6' - I've only enjoyed flying when I've been bumped to first class, every other time the legroom has been just too damn small.

At 280 I fit into one seat. At 300 I was always hoping for a skinny seatmate.

I always ask for a seat at the wing, right between 1st class and coach where the emergency door is. I get about 1-2 extra feet of leg room there.

I've learned to do that too, unfortunately, all the tall (and frequently big) guys have learned to do that as well.
