Got here last night. There is an AFL-CIO convention in Pittsburgh, the only thing the eighth car rental place I checked had left was a Dodge Grand Caravan. I rented it and drove into my off-line friend's place and have slept a lot. I'm having dinner with them tonight, but will be free tomorrow evening before I drive back to Pittsburgh.

You folks interested in meeting me in the Columbus area agree on a place, I'll be there around 5:00 p.m. and stick around for a few hours. Kairtane, Kaffis, DFK, et al, please post here and let me know.

I have grad school class tomorrow night. I cannot speak for the KafMeister. Thank you for the invite.

I don't know places in Columbus, but will keep an eye on this thread tomorrow. If I'm feeling well (still have the scratchy throat from Captain Tripp's cold), I'll drop by.

I regret not being able to make it to DC Michael, but DC is actually a longer trip for me then Philly. I don't have much latitude to make such a trip on the weekday as my job is probably only 60 minutes from Philly but at least 2.5 hours from DC. I hate to waste the opportunity.

Well, waiting for a couple pm's from Kaffis and Kairtane before finalizing plans. When and if I do this again I will Leave more time at each place and plan meeting folks ahead of time.

In the Pittsburgh airport, waiting, wanting to strangle an old woman babbling endlessly at her companion, happy that they will be sitting up front annoying the cabin crew while I sleep in the back.

Dinner with Kaffis and Kairtane was pretty good, pic later.

On my way home after a nice vacation, typing on my iPhone. Sleeping in my own bed will be great.

Later all,

Micheal

Thank you Xerxes, now in New York, JFK Airport. I have an 8 hour layover, 3 hours have gone by. Thankfully JetBlue has a wireless network available here. That allows me to try and download this.

Dang, still getting the word image. What am I doing wrong?

Micheal,

It's not you. There's something wrong with the <img> tags. I don't know how to correct that problem so here is a link to the picture.

The img bbcode tag gets screwed up if you have a url with a question mark in it. I followed the link and added the url to the direct picture for you.

And my streak for not being the palest person in a picture continues! I will hide by surrounding myself with people who throw off the color correction in my favor!

Mike, it was great to meet you. It was a fun evening, and I'm glad to have met Kairtane, as well -- I think in those 4 hours of conversation, I learned more about him than I've managed to glean from his posts to date! ;) It never ceases to amaze me, as I meet Gladers, how rich and interesting a community we have.

You have any idea how hard it is to lurk face to face? Not to mention creepy? :D

Well, for both of you guys, there's no reason that had to be the last time I drive out to Columbus...
