This is in prep for TMI's refuel outage at the end of the year: [youtube]RWEko5RFw9c[/youtube] A steam generator is used in pressurized water reactors as a means of transporting the thermal energy from the primary cycle into the secondary (non-contaminated) cycle. The primary cycle remains water (hence, pressurized) and the secondary side of the exchanger allows the secondary loops to saturate into steam.
