Blech...just made it in to the new office. I lost power yesterday afternoon, around 3pm, and it's not yet returned. Thankfully, that's the worst of my experience; the apartment I decided to take south of Nashville is built into the mountains, so I've remained high and dry. Based on reports I saw before I lost power, the previous apartment (in Antioch) looks like it is at best wet, and at worst, completely flooded. Mysterious ways, lemme tell ya.

Guys, thoughts and prayers are desperately needed for this area. At last count, there were over 41,000 people without power, and billions of dollars of damage done. At least 12 are dead in Tennessee, six more in Mississippi and three in Kentucky. They're expecting to find more bodies as the waters recede.

My own experience with this historic flood has been one (thankfully) of mere annoyance, but there are a lot of people who lost everything, and a lot more who lost most.

This is a good thing. I don't think Phe wants to deal with 15 of you had you gotten drenched :p

I've got to travel to Memphis at the end of the month, how are things there?

Glad to hear you are ok though.

Glad you are okay FarSky!! I'm thankful the storm went north of Murfreesboro (but not thankful it was to Nashville's detriment!)!! My son said it was pouring there yesterday, and he was sent home from work, but no flooding or major damage!! Although he did say a tornado touched down at the Murfreesboro airport, which isn't far from where he lives!

My thoughts go out to all of those affected by this storm and flooding! I can't imagine living in an area where tornadoes and floods could take everything in a moment's notice. I'll stick with earthquakes, thank you!

But then I could have one here and not be so lonely. :(

But what if it was evil?

If it is a clone wouldn't it have to be? :D

Oh come on now, FarSky was the Evil Overlord. If clones automatically go to the other extreme, he would be a Priest or Paladin.

Phe might like the cuddling, but would be bored instead of lonely.

Glad to hear you didn't get washed away in the flooding and that your new place is safe/dry!
Hope everything stays that way for you!

Good luck FarSky and Phe =)

I'm nice and safe (if lonely; Phe's finishing out her two weeks' notice, so I'm returning to Alabama on Friday, having dinner and Iron Man 2 with friends, renting a Uhaul on Saturday and packing, and coming back up Sunday).

I finally got power back last night around 4am. I was staying over at my siblings-in-law's house, about 25 miles away, because it got a bit too hot in the apartment. Sadly, it felt wonderful outside, nice and cool with a lovely breeze, but my allergies prevented me from being able to simply open a window or two. :(

@Elessar I think Memphis is fine. The flooding (at least, from the reports) was only in middle Tennessee, so places on the edges like Memphis and Knoxville should be unscathed. Granted, the local coverage was probably biased toward Nashville, given its location, but still, I've not heard anything about those areas.
