My name is Ryan. I like it. However, names I would have picked for myself would also be Rafael or Renato (Renatus).

My name is Matthew. I have no problems with my name and can't really imagine going by any other normal name. Though, a lot of people do call me Raltar even though they know my real name.

My name is Katrina. When I was growing up, everyone called me Kate. When I got out on my own I started going by Katie.

I would have named myself Phoenix.

I lied, really. When I was a kid, I would have named myself Voltron or Optimus Prime. But, I was a kid, so...yeah. Now I couldn't imagine being named anything else.

I wanted to be Mike when I was a kid. Not Mikey, not Michael, Mike. My family couldn't stop calling me by my first name, so I gave up on it.

Occasionally now, I think of myself more as Micheal than as my real life name.

That explains why you weren't offended when I kept calling you Uncle Mike. :)

My name is Anthony. I go by Tony. For some reason I always wished my name was Thomas.

Not a bit. I'm happy to be your adopted uncle, and you've known me as Micheal more than anything else.

I like my name. The only problem I have with my name is that my parents named me Edward Matthew, but always called me Matt. Which I fine; that's what I like, that's who I am...but dammit, if you're going to call a kid by a name, make sure it's the first name, not the middle one. It is a ***** and a half to try to do virtually anything official when everyone automatically assumes your first name doubles as your everyday name.

Not to mention the fact that I share my first name with my father, so even if they'd called me "Edward," it still would have been ****. I would have preferred they just order the names Matthew Edward. *sigh*

Look on the bright side. At least you can screw with your own progeny the same way.

Dude you are aware that like 85% of our demographic all go by their middle names on a regular basis? It's as normal down here as any other backwards thing we do.

Don't call me Jim (but you can call me Jimi). Most people call me Jamie, a few Jaime, but I really am James to the core. Wouldn't want to be anything else.

My name is Jonathan but I go pretty strictly by Jon. People like to be lazy.

I don't know that I'm suited to a less-common name.

My father is Earl William and has always gone by 'Bill'. Any time someone calls and asks for 'Earl' he knows it's not someone who knows him personally.

My name is Adrienne, and I've always liked it, but I think I would have been a happy Josephine.

If I were going to be able to change out my first name (Edward) I'd probably go for James.

My name is Laura, but i grew up Laurie all my life. People who are my friends and family call me Laurie, but at work I am Laura. It is just easier than explaining my double name. I also grew up with Reds as my nickname.
