****' fantastic. I won't tip you off who wins (well, except for the blatantly-displayed title), but I will admit that the narrator kind of detracts from the whole thing. What's funny, from our perspective, is that he says "octopi." haven't we had this discussion?! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. |

It's really odd. I know it's nature and everything, but I felt bad for the shark. But then I got to thinking...I wouldn't give two shits about the octopus if the shark was eating him...but with the roles reversed, I seriously feel bad for the shark. |

It's weird how it works out like that, isn't it? You probably don't feel bad stepping on an ant, do you? Our brains have a way of determining what we feel is the most helpless one, and then we feel sorry for it. The shark wasn't meant to die right there, or so our brain thinks. If the shark ate the octopus, well, it was just meant to happen because that's the order of the food chain. Even then, I think our brain breaks it down even more and determines when to feel sorry and when to not care. Regardless, that's a pretty amazing video. Unfortunately in hockey, the Octopus didn't overcome the Sharks. |

Wow, that's pretty cool. It looks like the shark effectively suffocates, since it needs forward movement to pump water through its gills. |

The announcer was absolutely horrible, in particular how the narration greatly over exaggerates the abilities and tendencies of spiny dogfish. This is hardly an apex predator... cod eat them. They only grow to be about 3 feet to 3.5 feet, and the largest caught was 15 pounds... A typical giant octopus is about 4x the size and 3x the weight. That, and the spiny dogfish is a typical meal for this species of octopus. And suffocation... maybe, but its much more likely that the shark was killed by the beak. |

Yeah, lets see the octopus take on a tiger or bull shark. |
