That used to be my reaction, Jasmy. Then, I discovered, that sometimes, they can grow up to become dog-cats, like mine.

Sure, it's cute; but it's both a Scottish Fold and a Munchkin - meaning it's the result of inbreeding to preserve not one, but two genetic defects. Both defects, by the way, are refused official acknowledgement by many cat registries in order to discourage breeders from continuing to produce them.

Does yours fetch? We used to have a cat that did that. Those little mousey-things? Plastic bodies, covered in fur, with a synthetic (I assume) leather tail that always got ripped off in about five minutes? We'd throw it, and she'd dash across the room, grab it, and bring it back, dropping it at our feet. She could do it for a long time before getting bored.

Couldn't see the cuteness behind the work firewall, sorry.

No, but he comes fairly reliably when called by name, will follow you around the house much like attentive dogs will, and is more of a lapdog than many lapdogs I've known.

Oh, and Pheona taught him to shake. =)

Sounds like a cool animal. I had an orange DSH, too, that would come - in fact he and his (black) brother would come when we whistled. Don't know how the guy we got them from trained them to do that, but they had it ingrained in them already when they were 6 weeks old or so. It was pretty cool.

Almost as cool as treating a poodle like a real dog and, hey, guess what? They're cool dogs if you don't treat them like a palette for your dog-cuting skills.

I'm kinda curious why you know this... Are you a subscriber to Cat Fancy?

Also, when Mich and DS post together it looks like good and evil Teddy.

I blame Taamar, mostly. I've heard her rant on occasion about the cruel side effects of breeding animals for specific traits. When I saw that video, I hit up Google and Wikipedia to learn about the folded ears and short legs. Ironically, from my perspective, it's breeding for the ears and not the legs that has the potential for serious health concerns (polycystic kidney disease, cardiomyopathy and osteochondrodysplasia).

I finally had a chance to go non-firewalled and look at the video ... That's a full-grown cat, in other words? Creepy.

Oh no, that's a kitten. The front legs aren't likely to get very much longer, though, if at all.

Mrs. Numbuk would like to contribute to this thread with this video.

While we are both dog lovers, and our cat is indeed cute for having many dog qualities (it actually comes every time it's called, and always greets you when you come home) she feels that this thread needs a new variety of cute. So I present:
