I couldn't. Holy crap. 109 + super-high humidity? Melted FarSky is melted.

Yesterday, it was just suffocatingly hot in Maryland. It's one of those days when you can almost feel the radiative heat off the asphalt and sidewalk surfaces. I could feel it on my tattoos, especially my back.

Those days are literally ones where the effort to breathe is noticeably elevated. An outdoor sauna no matter where you go.

Feel bad you are getting now FarSky, we are getting some reprise here today.

Brutal last night. I'm actually kind of happy to be at work today in the AC.

For whatever reason, I'm unaffected by heat. Probably a result of growing up outside StL in a house without air conditioning, going to a school without AC, etc.

Before I got married my kids would have to beg me to turn on the AC, not because I was cheap but because I didn't have a problem with 85º - 90º temperatures inside.

It's the humidity, Mr. Moose!

The actual temperature hasn't been that bad here in eastern PA the past few days, but it's been so humid. Yesterday was a no-shirt day just because of how uncomfortable it is. Then today when a strong thunderstorm blew through, kicking up nice cool wind gusts... ahhh, beautiful.

I can't complain too much either way, however... because it could always be January instead. :p In fact I kinda like 90 degrees so long as it's dry. Humidity itself is the devil. When you get out of the shower and are physically incapable of drying off, it is a miserable situation indeed.

It's only a matter of time before this thunderstorm knocks out our power. One of the nice things about living in Maryland is that you can be pretty sure every time it rains you'll lose electricity. BG&E is awesome...

I go out jogging in 109 temps here in Arizona. So yes, I can handle it. Plus it's monsoon season so that sometimes drops the temperature 5 degrees but shoots the humidity up to 80%. "Dry heat" my ***.

Go out of town 20 miles. Phoenix and Tucson get humid because of all the people and human added moisture to the air (lawn sprinklers anyone). The empty parts of the State of Arizona stay fairly dry - except when it rains.

I thought this thread was about red-heads?!

At the risk of incurring the wrath of the Earthquake god, I'm happy to live in paradise during the summer. Of course, it gets' pretty stupid-hot on occasion, especially in November with the Santa Ana winds, but right now Google is telling me it's 73 degrees, 59% humidity, winds out of the south at 3 mph. Generally pleasant, in other words, pretty much like always.

But, no, I can't handle the heat/humidity combination. DC killed me every summer when I lived there, pretty much at any time after May.
