What are these? They're third party extensions that allow you to browse, read, and post to the Glade from a mobile device (iP*, Android, Blackberry, etc) without using a browser. At the request of some people here, I set up both of these. So if you have a habit of browsing the Glade from your phone, you may want to try one of these out.

Eeeenteresting.
I wonder if a similar app exists in the Ovi store.

*edit : Tapatalk states that it works on Nokia devices. Crossing my fingers that it'll work on mine.

I just discovered Forum Runner last night, and have only been using it this morning, but SO MUCH LOVE. Tapatalk worked OK on my iPhone, but FR is a universal app that runs on natively on both my iPhone and iPad. Again, SO MUCH LOVE.

Thank yoo, Moo!

Posting from my Nokia Nuron via Tapatalk, which turned out to be 100% free through the Ovi store. I think I like it :)

I've been using tapatalk for a while. I much prefer it to trying to browse using a stock web browser.

There are a few minor quirks with it, like not showing if there are unread posts at the top level of the forum page. But other than that, I dig it.

I may check out Forum Runner if its available for android as well.

Forum Runner is only for iPhone and iPad at the moment.

i am unsure if I trust google checkout enough to buy any paid apps yet.... but tapatalk is going to be one of my first when I do finally give in.

Google checkout's no more insidious than other internet shopping carts.

And the Android Market is the only place (short of businesses I trust like my bank) I'd get an app -- the way they break down privileges the app uses on your phone (access location, access internet, etc.) is such an important security feature (when you're conscious about reviewing them) that isn't, to my knowledge, enforced anywhere else.

Just a note - in forumrunner it appears thread formatting is ignored. Folks won't know if they're being mod spanked, so don't get upset if it's ignored.

Meh Tapatalk ate my post I was writing. I guess I should save wall of text posts for a real computer. Or at least don't answer IMs while making wall of text posts.

Edit: nevermind, I was trying to back out of the app and I found my half-written post. Yay!

Ok, Forum Runner is really nice. Just installed it and looks and runs really really well. Much better than the Safari browser.

2 problems I've encountered with Tapatalk:
I cant see quoted text. This makes for some confusion, and I'm hoping there will soon be a fix.
Lots of embedded images overwhelm my phone's memory, and my phone responds to this by shutting down the app. I suspect there's no way around that, so I'll just avoid the random picture thread.
Otherwise, quite happy with it, especially as it was free.

It works ok, though I guess I don't see any advantage over using my phone's browser to view the board as the browser seems to view everything fine and readable without even zooming.

Hrm, for some reason I can't log in through Tapatalk pro (which is odd, since the RO version worked fine)...

Sadly, Tapatalk doesn't seem to generate proper quote tags.
Instead of:
Code:
[quote="username"]
I get:
Code:
[QUOTE=username;91513]
I can manually fix the tags before submitting my post, but it's still annoying.

Shel,

The developers for tapatalk are fairly responsive. You might try posting this over at their forums and see if they are aware of it. They might be already planning a fix.

Is anyone able to post with forum runner using an iPhone? I've been using it for awhile now and was told that its just for browsing not for posting, but looking at the developers forum it looks like I *should* be able to post with it?

Maybe you have the light version and there is a pay version for posting. I can't be sure since use tapatalk though

Forum Runner sometimes blows up posts, and also seems to negate spoiler tags.
