Post subject:  To all the ladies in the house

My wife was looking for a hobby a while back, and so I helped her start a blog. She mostly talks about makeup and fashion. Would you fine ladies do me a favor and provide any feedback you may have on it?

I left a comment on the Sept 10th entry. Thanks!

Should I take it then that you like it? Any tips for her?

She really likes doing it, and I've been trying to help her out as best I can, but probably other females offering advice would be better than my own.

I'd also be interested in any general writing tips people have for her.

See, I'm not the person to ask, really! I hardly ever wear make-up and I'm not so much into fashion...I'm kind of a bohemian hippy-ish Jesus freak stay at home mom...my "fashion" consists of stuff I get on clearance or at a thrift store or yard sale....and as far as make-up goes I'll wear some mascara and some lipstick once or twice a month but thats about it.
What I have noticed though about things like this (fashion and make-up) is that women like to feel like the writer is speaking directly to them (yanno, like *girl talk*), like they are getting the dish or the scoop or inside information on a product, and that whatever the product is its a great bargain.
Basically, act like you're talking to your girlfriends, write like you know something they don't and you're about to share some big secrets with them (so be creative in presentation...don't go for a "comsumer reports" kinda thing, more like a "hey Becky ZOMG check out what this concealer can do! And its only 5 bucks!!)
And let a little personality in.
Your wife is BEAUTIFUL. I didn't really get drawn into reading the latest two entries but the one with the photos of her was really cool...tell her to do more stuff like that and throw in some of her personality.
Am I rambling too much? Anyway, I may not be super girly but I've been reading Seventeen magazine and Cosmo and Glamour since I was a kid.
Hope that helps some.

PS--Went back and found an entry where she tried out a lip-definer and posted pics as she went. That was rather cool. I commented on that one as well.
I definitely enjoy the posts where she tries a product, posts before-during-and after pics and then offers her honest opinion and/or and alternate use of the product.

This actually describes my wife to a t, she even home schools our kids. She loves that kind of style, but she's also a makeup junkie, has been since she was a teenager.

I've absolutely no idea about makeup or anything, but the blog has an attractive design. Was that a template or a custom job?

Hee hee awesome! I'm homeschooling my son and two other boys. Your wife seems pretty cool. I'll go back and check out her blog again. :)

It's a template that I changed the background to.

I've joined in the fun. I know frack-all about makeup, or rather everything I know is from 20 years ago... but I like the way she writes.

I just bought the mascara she recommended based on her blog. It was her before and after pics that convinced me to try it. She has beautiful eyes and her 'before' pic didn't really look like she even needed mascara.

I don't which one it is off the top of my head, but she swears one of the eye lash things she reviewed made her eye lashes longer.

So I'm working on a new design for her site, I put it up here if anyone wants to give their input. I still need to get the frames to align, and I still have to do something with the archive links on the right. Any suggestions are welcome.
