Post subject:  Got a promotion yesterday
I'm super happy about this promotion. I'm now a full-on software developer, complete with a 35% increase in pay. Which is huge because I was already making good coin as it was. I was nervous about my income and a new baby. Now my fears are alleviated completely. Even if my wife couldn't/doesn't go back to work, I could sustain both of us on my current salary now.

The only thing that sucks is school has me so busy I have zero time to celebrate. We settled last night for a bowl of ice cream and an episode of the Sarah Connor Chronicles. :(

Edit: I just realized that I accepted the promotion exactly on my 7-year anniversary with this company. I started from the very bottom position and worked myself up to the highest technical job in the company with no degree. Hard work and God's grace definitely get you places.

What language are you developing in?

Primarily Cache Object Script (what the old MUMPS or M database language morphed into when Intersystems bought it) and VB.NET. A little bit of Excel macro crap too, but thankfully not too much.
