That's pretty much the definition of civic duty for someone who's been born in a democracy that's part of a republic. The more people participate, the better the representation.

I don't believe I have a duty to something I didn't agree to.

I can't believe my wife canceled out my vote for privatizing liquor sales here in WA. Was the only issue on the ballot that would have an immediate and appreciable effect on my life. Except for voting down creating a state income tax. No canceling my vote there.

Given that I have a job prospect out there, I really, truly hope you guys win in defeating that atrocity.

Silly Hop, you're in Ohio not MN!

Don't worry tho, I live in a largely conservative county and district.

Statistically, you'll change your mind about this when you mature.

I don't believe in civic duty, period. That said, I'd still vote, if we were having any type of elections right now, which we aren't.

As much as I think Sharron Angle's nutty... I think Harry Reid is FAR worse.

I'd vote for Josef Mengele over Harry Reid.

Heh... I voted 10 minutes after the polls opened at 7:30 this morning and was already number 79.

I have to say, that's been the most refreshing ballot in my voting career. I not only had 3rd party candidate options in almost every race (excluding judicial elections) and at every level, but in TWO of them, I had multiple 3rd parties to choose from!

This is one of the most important elections in recent times, so it's best if you just leave it up to the pros.

Will do mine tonight. Get to vote for someone I voted for 30 years ago, but still undecided on Prop. 19. Will probably vote for it, on principle.

Aethien, I really hope you're not talking about Brown...
