OK, this just goes in the "**** amazing" category. NASA's EPOXI mission - the one that, under another name, slammed a chunk of metal into the Tempel 1 comet and took pictures a few years ago - has done a 750-km flyby of the Hartley 2 comet. Official NASA site Bad Astronomy blog at DiscoveryMagazine.com And, high res pictures are still to come? Yikes, can't wait. |
