Heheh, I'm guessing the "foamy napalm in a can" was much more acceptable decades ago.

I'd like to know why it's no longer acceptable :( This would be great on the 4th of July :(

I'm guessing it's Jart-related.

Or maybe bicycle helmet related, or car-seat related, or monkey-bars related, or...

Those are awesome.

That said, lighter fluid taste is a myth. I have yet to ever notice even the slightest flavor of lighter fluid on my food and I use it with a chimney starter.

I've started the grill with gasoline too, and not noticed anything.

I disagree entirely Diamondeye. I can notice the difference between lighter fluid and chimney-started fires. I'll do a blind test taste, if you'd like. I prefer ribs or burgers. :D

I only start my fires using both.

I dunno about starter fluid taste, but I have noticed a difference between briquettes and lump charcoal. Briquettes taste funny compared to lump, but lump is a PITA to pack the starter chimney efficiently.
