So, Pickle Lake was covered in a freezing fog for most of the day. As a result, everything got covered in a very pretty, icy coating. It looks like a storybook winter wonderland! Even you winter haters have to admit it looks gorgeous :P I even was able to borrow a friend's snow mobile and go out for an hour long ride through some of the back trails! It was an awesome day to go sleddin', as it's only about -2 celsius, no wind, and lots of fresh snow.

All of my snow melted today. Had been around for about a week, though. I kinda miss it. But at least it is easier to drive now.

I purchased a snow thrower last week. I consider it the single greatest investment I have ever made. And if it never snows again for as long as I live, I will still make this claim. I've already got my money's worth out of it.

Because of this device, snow doesn't irritate me as it once did.

Whew. That was close. I thought I had seared out all the memories of that whole "snow" thing, but I guess not.

Elessar, I am sooooooooooooo jealous!! I haven't seen anything like that since childhood. *sigh*
We had a warm front meet a cold front and had tornadoes all night last night. What I wouldn't give for a heck of a lotta snow....it just doesn't snow here but once every 5 years or so and even then its only about half an inch that doesn't stick.

Thank you, Vlad. Keep posting pictures like that, periodically. It might tide me over until the vacation this winter.

Yeah, to reiterate ;)

Even then though, outdoor frolicking isn't available in the snow :p

No, Müs is right. Yes, one CAN frolick in the snow, though doing so is ill-advised and ultimately a last resort. It's not very comfortable, in the grand scheme of things. Living in what can only be described as the most frigid circle of hell, I spent my high-school winters looking for private secluded places warm enough to ...relax. The back seat of an old chevy may sound fun, but not when it's MINUS 30 **** DEGREES outside.

There's a reason people think sitting by a toasty warm fireplace in the middle of winter is romantic -- it's away from all this goddamn snow.

Seriously, **** winter with a rusty tire iron right in its frozen *******.

Winter allows you to appreciate:

Warm days in the summer
Heavy blankets that press you into the bed
"good sleeping weather"
Hot cocoa
Hills (sledding)
Snowball fights
Snowmen
Iceskating

Taly is being a drama queen, winters are just as much fun outdoors around here as summers are.

Aizle has the right train of thought!

Hey Butthead. Why do we have to have things that suck?
Because Beavis, how would you know what rocks?
Um... because it rocks!
No, you have to have things that suck, so you can know what rocks.
Oh yeah. I never though of it that way.

I hate winter. I hate it with a passion. I hate everything about winter. I would move to the tropics without a single regret or fond memory of snow if I could stay in Canada while doing it.

Ya know, I can deal with sun. Sand bugs the hell out of me, though. But I think wind is the worst - all of those pretty tropical pictures you see, you never realize that all the trees are bent flat because of the constant wind.

Pretty pics, Elessar. I'm hoping for a freak SoCal snowstorm this winter, seems like it's getting cold enough. Would be the first one (if it actually snows) since 1949, I think.

I love sand. I like wind. I even like Sun, although I do my best to stay shaded from it while it's out. Most of all, I love water. Especially crystal-clear warm salt water near a coral reef. Swimming is my favorite "physical activity" (not including, you know. I'm talking about real excercise.) I think I'm part mermaid...

Sand is cool, but I've never understood the appeal of "sex on the beach." We put sand in stuff when we want it to be abrasive. Sex and sand is not a winning combination. Sand and a picnic table is a good match-up. It gets rid of the splinters. Then, sex and a picnic table is a real winner.

Remove the picnic table, and you're left with **** on sandpaper. Who thinks that's a good idea?
