Where's good in Colorado for a ski trip in two weeks, anybody know?

What kind of experience are you looking for? i.e. Vail if you're looking for "elitists".

I personally recommend Breckenridge, here is me at said location 2 years ago:

Good prices for on the mountain rooms and ski packages. Great skiing and trails. Some close by bars and such in short drive distances. Vail is more upscale I believe, never stayed there. Also stayed at Copper Mountain with the family a while back. Another good mountain and nice lodging for a good price (at the time anyway). A-Basin was great skiing when I went last time but couldnt tell you about the rooms there.

P.S. Try snowboarding if you havent, it's great!

Oh and a lot of them are very drivable from each other. Breck, A-Basin, Copper Mountain, Vail and I think it's Keystone are all close by one another. So you're not limited by where you stay but of course it's easier to just ski down to your room for lunch.

I've only gone skiing once before. We're taking off on the 17th and flying in to Denver. The one time before I went to Keystone.

I'm just looking for a "nice" place, don't need more than that.

It's a last minute kind of thing.

I've stayed at Breckenridge and Copper Mountain and both were very nice, and not too expensive. They're probably all fairly comparable unless you start getting into the high end stuff.

My mom went skiing at keystone once. It was fabulous.

However, my mom also tore her ACL skiing, and evidently it was due in a large part to taking it up too late in life. Be exceedingly cautious.

If you have the pain of an ACL tear you'll have no gain either. Just be careful. My mom has had to be back for like 4 or 5 knee surgeries since then.

I agree. There's nothing quite as breathtaking as an array of sweet, bready breakfast foods before you.
